Myrtle Beach, S.C. –Doctors Care is pleased to announce the grand opening of its relocated Strand urgent care center at 1221 21st Ave. N. in Myrtle Beach. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was celebrated on Thursday, May 28.
Dr. Thomas Gibbons, president and chief medical officer of Doctors Care, says the new facility will help the Doctors Care medical team better accommodate the evolving needs of its growing community.
“The new Doctors Care Strand center was designed with our patients in mind as exceptional customer service and medical care remain our primary focus,” Gibbons said. “This brand new center will not only provide spacious exam and health care space, but will also help our providers and staff to deliver more efficient care that’s exceptionally convenient when combined with our new Online Check-In feature. Our patients can literally check-in to any of our locations from the beach, their couch or office – and we’ll text them when it’s time to come to the clinic.”
During the ceremony, representatives from the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, including the team mascot, were in attendance to accept a charitable gift from Doctors Care to the Bruce Dal Canton Scholarship Fund.
“We are thrilled to be able to share our excitement about our move into this modern medical facility with the community. It is truly an honor to be part of such an exciting and growing area, and we are grateful to be able to serve its needs. We look forward to continuing our relationship with our Strand patients and meeting new patients every day,” said David Boucher, president and COO of UCI Medical Affiliates.
The same physicians and staff will continue to serve patients in the new location, located directly across the street from the old location.
Doctors Care Strand will continue to provide the following services:
- Urgent care and minor surgical procedures (sprains, fractures, lacerations, accident evaluation, burns, etc.)
- Family care (sports and annual physicals, X-rays, blood work, cold/strep/flu care, etc.)
- Vaccinations (tetanus, flu, pneumonia, hepatitis, travel, etc.)
The new Doctors Care Strand facility is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Doctors Care’s sister company, Progressive Physical Therapy, which was previously located in the same building, has also moved across the street to 2050 Corporate Centre Drive, Suite 100. Both centers are owned and managed by UCI Medical Affiliates Inc.
